They did what???…’ This paper examines the specific online manifestations of celebrity gossip, taking into account the history of celebrity, the celebrity gossip industry, and the pleasures associated with the consumption of celebrity. Anna Chwastek recently completed a Masters-by-Research in the School of English, Communications and Performance Studies (ECPS). Her thesis, The Online Grapevine: Gossip on the Internet, considered the issues and changes related to gossip on the Internet and evaluated the moral dimensions of these changes.
