Summary: So, looking at some of the details of promotions, before we get into best practices and examples, I think it’s important for us to really look at what are we really talking about when we’re talking about promotions. Within the affiliate chain, we’re talking about really two main areas. The first is related to end-user promotions. So, these are promotions that are going to affect the consumer or end-user’s behavior. These are normally advertisers who want the consumer to do some sort of a specific action. This could be signing up for a newsletter, completing a purchase, increasing cart size, etc. We normally see these in the forms of coupon codes, sale priced items, inventory blow outs, and many others. The other one that we’re talking about, which I know is near and dear to Brian’s heart, is looking at publisher incentives.
