Issue regarding multiple words used in domains, directories, and filenames.

The SEO Advisor-Home Business Marketing show

Summary: I have been listening to your podcast(s) for a while and was wondering about a particular issue regarding multiple words used in domains, directories, and filenames. Here's the question: If you had to rank these choices from best to worst, in terms of good SEO, what would your order be? Say you had a person's name (or multiple keywords making up a new domain name) that needed to be used in a directory name and also a filename inside that directory. If the person's name were: Mary Virginia Smith-Collier (as an example), what is your opinion on using the "%20 space character" vs. the hyphen("-") vs. the underscore("_") vs. just running all the names together in one long string, and possibly eliminating a hyphen in a name? I heard that if the one long string created another "undesirable" word when joined that that would confuse the Search Engine spider and therefore, you should *never* join multiple words as one long string. For instance: Pleasant Hill Estates would give you the obvious: pleasANTHILLestates.com as a sorta funny example.
