Summary: / Shelby County School of Technology – Construction Academy / Construction is one of our nation’s largest industries. This industry is comprised with a host of different occupational avenues. You can obtain a degree to be a Civil Engineer, who works with planning the schematics of the construction to be done, or… you can take a more hands-no approach to construction by working as a painter, roofer, or carpenter. Of course, there are a multitude of other positions affiliated with this line of work. All of these jobs require some form of training. At the Shelby County School of Technology, students are learning about construction through their Construction Academy, which is geared to teach kids not just one trade, but several, making them more marketable for employment.
