Not only does Scott use Fishhound to get ready for his tournaments, he reports the conditions he finds when he’s fishing. Hear it from him:  Guest Intro Starting on Earth Day, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service launched a series of 50 stories for 50 consecutive weekdays exploring the many ways that climate change is impacting fish and wildlife across America. No geographic region is immune. Combined with other stressors such as urbanization, invasive species and water scarcity, climate change is disrupting natural systems upon which wildlife … and people … depend. The series covered 50 states, looking at regional challenges posed by climate change.  Today David Eisenhauer joins us from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service with stories from our wild and natural places, and how they’re changing. Around the world of fishing in 120 Seconds It’s good news if you’re one of the companies who took honors at last week’s ICAST awards, here’s a quick list of some of the winners in this special ICAST edition of 120 Seconds. Best of Show award went to Berkley Nanofil line, which also won in the fishing line category. Not a braid or a superline, this is a low stretch, low diameter monofilament. Neat stuff. Berkley’s parent company, Pure Fishing, also took more awards than any other company this year – by a landslide. Frabill took best of show for their Frabill Suit – we also liked advancements in their Conservation Series nets line of products. Best Boat award went to Hobie for the Hobie Mirage Revolution 11 – Hobie always does an awesome job. Daiwa had the best combo, and G Loomis won in both best rod categories – best fly rod and best conventional fishing rod. The Costa Women’s Collection turned heads in the eyewear category. VestPac won Best Fly Fishing accessory with their DriftPac, and TFO won best Fly Reel for their BVK Fly Reel, even though this isn’t really a fly show. Speaking of reels, Abu Garcia’s Revo MGX was the show-stopper in conventional reels, those Revos are just amazing. Pure Fishing also won in kid’s fishing with Shakespeare’s Casting Game & Sound Fishing Kit. We loved seeing Patrick Sebile roll out a single-hook design crankbait, and it got the Best Hard Lure honors this year – another win for Pure Fishing. Koppers LIVE TARGET Hollow Body Mouse won for soft baits with an addition to their super-realistic line of baits.
