Summary: In most provinces and in some parts of the world, a midwife is considered an important part of delivering a baby. But in this province, midwifery isn't regulated....and expecting parents often find it hard to access the service. This week, the Canadian Association of Midwives is in the province with the hopes of improving this situation. They'd like the federal treasury board to create a pay catagory for midwives, And they'd like to be officially recognized for the services they provide.
