Fighting for Lord Stanley's Cup

The Central Newfoundland Morning Show from CBC Radio Nfld. and Labrador (Highlights) show

Summary: The Newfoundland Senior Hockey League season gets underway on the weekend, and teams are already dreaming about winning the classic Herder Trophy. If the NHL ends up losing the entire season to another lockout, however, the senior teams can start dreaming a bit bigger. That's because after the last lockout, when the NHL had no playoffs, nobody won the Cup. A couple of hockey fans took the league to court, claiming their beer league team was entitled to the chance to challenge for it. They won. Tim Gilbert was their lawyer, and I reached him in Toronto.
