Ladies’ Night #2: Fashionable Gender Roles

The Lancast show

Summary: What could possibly be better than listening to Becky Svendsen and myself talk about random stuff? How about listening to Becky, myself and Jasmine Grimm talk about random stuff! In our second Ladies' Night episode, we introduced Jasmine as our third female host and recapped a little bit about what she does for a living. For those of you who missed out on her interview with David and Keith, you can click here to view and listen to that episode. Jasmine is a style buff who helps people dress for their body type. Since Jasmine knows what's up when it comes to looking good, we decided that was a good topic to start with. From there we talked about how we  hooked up with our hubbies and some sentimental clothing items we associate with our romantic relationships. Jasmine and husband Cory have quite an adventurous love story that you won't want to miss. Next up, I wanted to put in a plug for Amber Miller, owner/operator of a small business venture called Simply Amber Company. Amber has an array of artistic talents, and one of her current projects is handmade flower pins. They sell for around $20 a piece and come in a variety of colors to choose from. You can also have one made to order like I did. For more information, you can email Amber at simplyamberco@gmail.com. Talking about women in the workforce led to discussion about the difference in pay levels between men and women and the belief that we should all be paid for what we're worth. Are our companies really paying individuals fairly, or are we still living in the dark ages when it comes to gender equality? Finally, Becky wrapped up the evening with an article of interest that covered a "gender neutral" preschool in Stockholm, Sweden. We discussed our opinions on the concept and why it might or might not accomplish the goal of equality. Lots of good content for discussion this time around. Please enter your own opinions below on the topics we've talked about here. Join our conversation! And for the ladies of the Lancast, I'd like to say thanks for listening!
