Mexican Americans and obesity

Family Health Radio show

Summary: Why is the obesity rate rising among Mexican-Americans? We Americans, in general, have a weight problem. This is not a political issue, but instead a major health concern, and it contributes enormously to the rising cost of national health care. More than one third (1/3) of all American adults are obese, along with almost 20 (twenty) percent of children. In fact, those rates might actually be higher, since they are based on self-reporting, and both men and women tend to stretch the truth (or shrink the truth) when it comes to reporting their weight and height.
