Summary: I find many people are consumed with fear regarding their finances. People fear they won’t have enough to pay for retirement, or college, or pay off their house. Some people fear they won’t have enough to pay their bills this month. And there is reason to fear if you’re putting your trust in finances. They are unstable and uncertain. You could lose your job. The economy could decline further and wipe out your investments. Putting hope in these uncertain things is fearful. Money fears are not unique to our culture and our time. God’s Word is always timely and always relevant, and Jesus addressed these very concerns 2,000 years ago in the Scriptures, saying, “...do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” If we seek God first, we do not need to fear. He will provide. Our world needs to hear this. At a time when fear is prevalent, it’s up to us to tell others of God’s promises given in love - a love that casts out fear. Seek God’s Kingdom first this week, today, and watch as He transforms your life and uses you to reach others.
