The episode phases from a plot standpoint is one of the most straight-forward episodes there is. So rather than get into a lengthy discussion about each segment of the plot, I am going to do a synopsis of the plot for a few minutes and then talk about some of the things that are going on in this episode. * Fun facts about this episode * it was actually directed by Seth Green who plays Oz. It is interesting to me because this is really the first Oz centric episode of the series and for him to pull double duty does a couple of things. One I know it is a lot more work to direct and star in an episode but two I think it really gives Seth Green an opportunity to tell Oz’s story from his perspective a little bit and I think it is great that they gave him that opportunity. * Reference to the Witch episode the third episode of season 1. As Oz opens the episode staring at the cheerleader trophy which has eyes that seem to follow you. * Reference to the pack episode when the group is in the library and Xander starts thinking like a hyena to try and predict what the werewolf’s next move is going to be. * Willow-Oz kissing plotline * Willow needs Buffy’s advice even though it is probably the last thing that Buffy needs to be talking about. * Xander-Cordelia plotline * Just when Cordelia thinks that she has Xander’s attention away from Buffy he starts rambling on about Willow and Oz * Oz is in a band, he’s not good enough for willow. * Xander is going through what cavemen always go through. * He didn’t want Willow when she was available and wanted him, now that she isn’t available and he doesn’t have her attention, suddenly he doesn’t like it so much. Doesn’t think Oz is good enough… * I feel sorry for Cordelia because she is really getting the short end of the stick. * Werewolf plotline. * There are reports of people being mauled by an animal. * Cordelia and Xander spot the monster and it’s a werewolf. * Buffy goes out on the hunt and runs into hunter guy (Cain). Now it’s a race to see who catches the werewolf first. * Buffy and Giles don’t want to kill the werewolf,
