Revisiting the Bear Issue in Eastport

The Central Newfoundland Morning Show from CBC Radio Nfld. and Labrador (Highlights) show

Summary: This past summer, we heard a lot about bears in and around Glovertown and the Eastport Peninsula. Many people blamed the closure of the area dump on the increase of bear activity in communities. A couple of residents got so fed up with the bears that they took matters into their own hands, shooting bears in the name of protection. Over a month ago, a meeting was held in the area to address the issue. But according to Meletta Harvey of Sandringham....the problem has only gotten worse.
