The Cost of Worker' Compensation

The Central Newfoundland Morning Show from CBC Radio Nfld. and Labrador (Highlights) show

Summary: Last week, the province's employer's council released the results of a study about the effects of high worker's compensation premiums paid by business owners. This province has the highest premiums in Canada. The author of the report says that's hurting communities and limiting job opportunities, but it might be more because high premiums look bad, rather than what they actually cost businesses. Morley Gunderson is an economist at the University of Toronto, and conducted the study on behalf of the employer's council.
