Also, today we share the dangers that go along with wade fishing and what can happen if you encounter a stingray. A couple anglers share their stories on getting barbed by one of these nemesis creatures that lurk on the bottom. Hal Hargis, Houston Texas It took Hal six weeks to recover from his stingray barb. The pain was so excruciating while he traveled to the hospital that he wanted to marry  the nurse after she made the pain go away. The next day he stayed in the boat for some drift fishing. Wearing boots that he thought would provide him protection and turns out to be a run to the emergency room. Troy still wade fishes on Team OSO for trout and redfish or whatever he can catch but is more aware of the pain associated with stingrays. This stingray took about an 1:45 minutes to land on the boat at Port O' Conner Jetty area. He thought it might be a State record but the Texas Parks and Wildlife doesn't keep track of catch & release stingray.
