Summary: The mining industry in this province is worth millions and millions of dollars. For every Duck Pond or Voisey's Bay, there's a prospector who searched out the valuable rocks and staked a claim. This weekend, for the first time ever, the Newfoundland and Labrador Prospectors Association will hold an annual general meeting. Organizer Norm Mercer hopes there will be at least 60 prospectors at the event in Gander.
