Summary: Some years ago at Harvard University, a Japanese Christian was speaking to my friend Paul Little and he said these words,” I wish that you Christians in the West, could realize that we from the East who have gone through the ravages of war, starvation, suffering, political turmoil and the loss of loved ones, have a profound wound in our hearts.” Do you know that around you here, you don’t have to be from Japan? You can be in any nation in the world. There are wounded people with broken hearts. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ came to heal the broken-hearted. He is near to you today, if you are one of those broken-hearted people who feel alone in the world, rejected perhaps, despised by a spouse or even by your parents. 50% of kids in America, for instance, come from broken homes. Those are very wounded young people. They need to know that despite the rejection of a father or a mother, God our father never rejects us. Jesus Christ never runs away from us. Rather He comes to us and He embraces us and gives us the kiss of forgiveness and the embrace of love. He is near to you today. Jesus Christ heals the broken-hearted. If you are broken-hearted, surrender to Him right now. And if you know a friend that is broken-hearted, tell him what Jesus can do for them, just like He did for you.
