Summary: I was joined by barbecue great Chris Lilly tonight. We mainly talked about the new product that Kingsford has recently introduced in to the market. It is a combination lump charcoal and briquette rolled in to one. Chris and I have different views on the original Kingsford charcoal that is in the Blue and White bag…he likes it and I am not a big fan. However, I am looking forward to giving the new “Competition Briquette” a try…look for it in April of 2009. We also talked about his gig at the Greenbrier in West Virginia where he is one of 3 instructors of the BBQ Mastery class. He is also releasing his first go at a cookbook in March of 2009 as well. Last but not least, there is hope that a 3rd installment of the BBQ Challenge series will make it to TV sometime in mid 2009. Chris is very diverse and active in the barbecue community.
