Summary: We are back and we are reviewing some Lovecraft adaptations this week! Two films that cover a wide swath of different stories from H.P. Lovecraft's resume. We kick it off with The Resurrected (1991) that is loosely based off The Case of Charles Dexter Ward story. About a man who inherits a chest from his dead ancestor chock full of arcane knowledge that leaves him spiraling off doing alchemy to bring the dead back to life. Then we jump into another 90s Lovecraftian film that is an anthology. NECRONOMICON (1993) that has 3 stories and one wrap around story with Jeffrey Combs playing Lovecraft. 3 original Lovecraft stories are given the short films treatment with some very amazing practical FX treatment.
