On Friday afternoon, the police were alerted to a disturbance in the 1200 block of Indiana Street. The situation escalated when the suspect fled the scene with the female victim, suspected to be taken against her will, as the Borger police were dispatched around 3:40 p.m. A vehicle matching the suspect's description was soon spotted by officers, leading to a pursuit towards Fritch. The chase came to a head near the Hutchison-Potter County line where, according to Police Chief Donnie Davis, the male driver was shot with a firearm found inside the vehicle. Reports from ABC 7 News confirmed that it was the victim who had managed to fire the shot. The suspect, wounded but alive with non-life threatening injuries, was rushed to an Amarillo hospital. The woman, having survived the ordeal, was evaluated at a local hospital. As the investigation unfolds, details such as the suspect's identity and specific charges remain under wraps.
