Billy was born in Cessnock Australia and he played Rugby League for the Cessnock Goanna's with NRL Immortal Andrew Johns and his brother Australian Rep player and TV Personality Matty Johns.. He played for the Newcastle Knights NRL team from 1994- 2002, playing 190 games. Billy won 2 Premierships in 1997 and again in 2001, scoring 2 tries in that game. He then moved to England to play with the London Broncos. He has also been the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Newcastle Knights. Billy is the ambassador for the Mark Hughes Foundation for research into Brain Cancer.
