But with a number of events already underway, and larger festivals still to come, state public health officials are worried about a resurgence of MPOX (the disease formerly known as Monkeypox). Although MPOX cases have declined in California since their peak last summer, the head of the state’s public health department issued a warning to healthcare providers to remain vigilant to prevent a possible resurgence.
