She Did Lose Her Job

The People's Countryside Environmental Debate Podcast show

Summary:
Before you listen to this episode, it’s worth considering that this was recorded in October 2022, and as you’re aware; the world has moved on, quite significantly.

So with that in mind, Stuart and William tried their best at the time to predict the future, by answering the following three questions:

Is Liz Truss still in power?

Is Jeremy Hunt still the chancellor?

Has a general election been announced?

Listen till the end, where you’ll find out what Stuart and William predicted, and whether they got any of the answers right or wrong. Spoiler alert, it’s a bit of a mixed bag.

This whole discussion was prompted by the following question, that was sent in by listener Terry from Watlington, Oxfordshire, England.

“I wonder how people (especially Conservative voters) feel about the sweeping changes Liz Truss, the UK Prime Minister is implementing? By the time you do this question she may have lost her job though?”

Topics that were covered include, hypocrisy within government, how Liz Truss was at first supported by her party, but then wasn’t. The anti growth coalition. Stuart in particular speaks of how humanity doesn’t like change, it’s always resistant to change in all its forms, and yet we’re talking about constantly changing the Prime Minister, and we’re seemingly happy with that. So do we really like change, or don’t we?

What do you make of this discussion? Do you have a question that you'd like us to discuss?
