Written by noted American Jewish author Letty Cottin Pogrebin, the book is entitled <em>Shanda: A Memoir of Shame and Secrecy. </em>Pogrebin talks about how deeply held, and deeply embarrassing, secrets were part of her family’s culture.</p>
