Hymns for Family Worship - Steve Demme, Part 3 (Family Series)

Schoolhouse Rocked: The Homeschool Revolution show

Summary: Steve Demme joins Yvette Hampton to talk about Family Worship in this kickoff to our Family Series, which will continue in January. Join us tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday for very special bonus episodes. In these, Kara Walker joins Yvette to discuss how she was able to graduate from college with no student loans or other debt.   Watch this full conversation on our YouTube channel.   In this week’s episodes we cover the following topics: What is God’s design for the family in the area of Spiritual Development? How are the roles of the church and family different in the areas of worship and discipleship? Who should lead and what roles should dad, mom, and kids play in family worship What roles do scripture reading/prayer/scripture memory/songs, hymns, and psalms/fellowship play in Family Worship? Steve and Yvette discuss the importance of spiritual mentorship and how to approach children’s ministry and youth groups as a Christian family. They also touch on how parents should model a love for the Word of God to their children and how to grow in that love if they’re not already there. Finally, Steve lays out a practical family worship plan and talks about what that looks like in his home. At the same time he gives advice for how to address family discipleship when schedules are already too busy or the kids don’t want to have anything to do with it. Steve Demme and his wife Sandra have been married since 1979. They have been blessed with four sons, three lovely daughters-in-law, and five special grandchildren. Their fourth son has Downs Syndrome and lives with them in Lititz, PA.
