MUP EP 208 – Pacing into the Darkness

MU Podcast Episodes – Miskatonic University Podcast show

Summary:

In this episode, Keepers Jon, Murph, and Dave welcome Thom Raley, creator and host of the Into the Darkness club, a Call of Cthulhu actual play show on YouTube. Enjoy!

Campus Crier

The Campus Crier is the Miskatonic University’s student newspaper. This edition was collected on September 12th, 2020.

Keeper Jon's scenario, The Shadow Over Providence, is now available in a softcover format. You can order it from Chaosium. If you buy the softcover it also includes a copy of the PDF.

Harlem Unbound (2nd Edition) has been added to Roll20 virtual tabletop. The module includes seven scenarios that are fully integrated and optimized for Roll20’s virtual tabletop experience. It features over 100 NPCs and 14 maps with GM layers and dynamic lighting, player character tokens, digital dice, and macros.

And, speaking of Roll20, Free League has announced that Tales From the Loop is now available as a Roll20 module, and that ALIEN will soon be adapted for the virtual tabletop platform too.

Keeper Jon's run of Spawn of Azathoth has begun! I hope everyone has an opportunity to watch or listen to it on Into the Darkness. I and the players are playing in-costume with green screened backgrounds, to make it more entertaining to watch. But, if you don’t have the time to watch the show, Thom Raley also updates the shows into a regular audio-podcast format that is available from your favorite podcatcher.

Mork Borg now has an open 3rd Party License. Similar to the Miskatonic Repository and the Free League Workshop, fans of Mork Borg can create their own content and sell it. Just like the game itself, the license rules are really light and super easy to follow. But, unlike the Miskatonic Repository and the Free League Workshop, the use of the Mork Borg 3rd Party License does not provide a central storefront on DriveThruRPG for fans to sell their homemade products. So, fans will need to be creative on how and where they market and sell their stuff. This might change in the future, so if you’re interested in this, keep checking the license for updates.

Recent Gaming

After Dave's break, he's back at it with his modern Call of Cthulhu game playtesting..

As noted in the news, Jon's Spawn of Azathoth game has begun. Also, Jon was invited by some friends to run ALIEN: Chariot of the Gods for them, so far we’ve had one session and it is awesome. And, he's gotten back into his Blades in the Dark game, which is super-cool.

Murphs has started playing in the Alien campaign Destroyer of Worlds run by iPwned (aka Chris) from the discord channel. And our editor Max has started an Icons game on Wednesday that has been rather fun.

MUP Patreon

If you haven’t heard yet, we have redesigned our Patreon and so far the feedback has been all positive!
