Summary: Tyler Mahle got hit all around Great American Ballpark yesterday and the Cincinnati Reds lost big to the Chicago Cubs. Jeff and Steve dive into the early season struggles of Mahle and why it is eerily similar to the start of the season Luis Castillo turned in for the Reds last year. Mahle's bad start is only a small pat of the larger struggles of the starting pitching staff for the Reds that is worst in the Majors in many categories. Reds starting pitching has been the biggest reason why the Reds have such a bad record. Also, David Bell needs to do a better job of putting guys in spots to succeed, like Tyler Naquin. He mashes right-handed pitching but gets shut down by lefties. The Reds skipper has not done a good job of putting the roster that was poorly constructed in good positions to win ballgames.
