The Chris & Sandy Show Welcomes Back Country Artist Janelle Arthur

The Chris & Sandy Show show

Summary: We had a wonderful conversation with Janelle Arthur on The Chris & Sandy Show as she returns back to the show. We talked about so many things from sacrifices, her new song, her movie, she told some really awesome stories to a whole lot more!

Janelle Arthur releases her second single on Black Sheep Records today, a song she co-wrote called "What Would Dolly Do." Arthur's destiny has been crossed with the inimitable Dolly Parton since she was just a little girl, and she’s been inspired by the humble-hearted legend in innumerous ways, most recently when Parton offered to sing on Arthur’s touching ballad “Hand Me Downs.”

At only 8 years old, the former American Idol finalist got her start portraying a young Dolly in a live production of her life story.

Arthur was moved by Parton’s constant, unending kindness over the years and wanted to express her thanks, and what better way to do that than in a song. So she sat down with co-writer Brett Sheroky and wrote the fun-filled new single, “What Would Dolly Do?” The tune is a perfect homage to the legend, who has touched so many lives in so many ways and made them better.

“I had the hook ‘WW Double D” for a while before I wrote it with the incredibly talented Brett Sheroky,” explains Arthur. “It was a song that I felt like I needed to write. Dolly’s willingness to sing with me was something that I could never repay, and so I wanted to write something that encompassed just how incredible, humble, witty, and fabulous she is. It highlights everything from her big hair to her big... heart! It’s an anthem not only for Dolly lovers, but for anyone who thinks we need a little more kindness (and rhinestones) in the world!“
Arthur infuses the song with just the right amount of playfulness and sass, and churns out a perfectly fitting tribute to the Queen of Rhinestones herself.

“What Would Dolly Do” is the latest song from Arthur on Black Sheep Records (distributed by CDX Records via The Orchard) and is available on digital music streaming platforms now.
