Earth Overshoot Day - If we don't check our speed of consumption of nature's resources we may soon overshoot the runway of survival and end in disaster

The KAJ Masterclass LIVE show

Summary:
Earth Overshoot Day this year is today ie August 22. Earth Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity has exhausted nature's budget for the year. For the rest of the year, we are maintaining our ecological deficit by drawing down local resource stocks and accumulating carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

These are nature's alerts for humanity. If we don't check our speed of consumption of nature's resources we may soon overshoot the runway of survival and end in disaster

We should never forget what Carl Sagan in his 1994 book, Pale Blue Dot, said:

… The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.
It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”

--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kajmasterclass/message
