Summary: Before the age of 17, I was faced with 3 pregnancies, 2 ended in abortion. These painful choices devastated me and put me in a state of rage. Angry and bitter, I despised everything. Fearful and full of shame and guilt I knew I had to get away from this narcissistic, gaslighting man, or I would end up destitute. Hiding behind shame and guilt, I kept my secret hidden and believed I deserved perpetual punishment. For over 3 decades I struggled with unforgiveness and turned to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Counseling didn’t get to the root cause-I buried myself in my career and side gig. Despite my angry outbursts, I advanced and was successful in my job and church-my heart was hurting so I drank, ate, and became addicted to 0% credit cards, until one day I had enough.
