Our Sorta Kinda Year-End Watch Recap

The HourTime Show show

Summary: Hello and welcome to yet another exciting edition of The HourTime Show, the official podcast of WristWatchReview.com. Your hosts this week are Victor and Nicholas. Your pals are recording this episode on Christmas Eve, so we open the show with a bit of Christmas talk: How are you celebrating, did you have any traditions growing up, that sort of thing. Victor is having a nice family meal and Nicholas briefly brings up his on again, off again World of Warcraft addiction.  Moving onto watches, the pod very loosely discusses 2021 in watches. Victor brings up the meca quartz-powered Brew 8 Bit while discussing fun designs, Nicholas brings up Seiko's move up-market and whether or not people will tolerate paying $1000 for a watch with alignment issues, and Victor brings up the Seiko SNK809 as a a good modding base. Victor then delivers a history lesson as to why telegraph wires are built along train tracks. Lastly, the crew discusses watches that "got away" this year, including Nicholas's rather sub-par customer service experience at a Tourneau that led to him not buying the bronze Hamilton Khaki Mechanical and an Oris Divers Sixty Five that Victor missed out on eBay. There's a bit more, including a quick aside on watches we bought after reviewing them for the site (including this Vaer) but that's about it for this week. Thanks once again to Andrew Haworth for producing this week's episode. Keep it locked to WristWatchReview.com and @wristwatchreview on Instagram for more fun watch content. Thank you for listening, and have a great week!
