Summary: St. Paul told the Corinthians to “make holiness perfect in the fear of the Lord.” For some this sounds like “works-righteousness” and for others like the picture of an angry God. Instead, St. Paul echoes many OT texts that give tantalizing intimations of holiness to which we are called, participating in what has been done for us already.
