It was 1981, I was 10 years old and the News was filled with coverage of the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://duckduckgo.com/?q=ronal+reagan+assanination+attempt&amp;atb=v224-1&amp;page=1&amp;sexp=%7B%22biaexp%22%3A%22b%22%2C%22msvrtexp%22%3A%22b%22%2C%22videxp%22%3A%22a%22%2C%22earlydeep%22%3A%22b%22%7D&amp;iax=images&amp;ia=images" target="_blank">President Ronald Reagan assasination attempt.</a> One of the secret service agents was waving this Battlestar Galactica looking gun around and I was more focused on it than the actual History that was unfolding in front of me. After that, I started noticing the UZI in more and more movies and TV shows. But it was the next year, 1982, when Hasbro dropped the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.I._Joe:_A_Real_American_Hero">GI Joe Real American Hero</a> action figure line and it's iconic hero <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.yojoe.com/action/82/snakeeyes.shtml" target="_blank">Snake Eyes with his UZI </a>that my adoration for the UZI and firearms in general really started. The packaging artwork by <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://arealamericanbook.com/2020/04/23/remembering-hector-garrido/" target="_blank">Hector Garrido </a>was so vidid and powerful that it kickstarted a child's imagination and it was off to the races.<br> <br> <br> <br> <a href="https://www.talkinglead.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/snakeeyes-uzi-talking-lead-ak-korner.png"></a><br>
