Vince’s book tells you everything you wanted to know about the iconic sitcom, as seen through the eyes of the cast and crew, including Carl Reiner, Mary Tyler Moore, Rose Marie, Morey Amsterdam, Larry Mathews, and, of course, Dick Van Dyke himself. In this segment Vince talks about why Reiner and Sheldon Leonard cast Van Dyke because he embodied all three aspects of the Rob Petrie character: the introverted writer, the devoted husband and caring father, and the ability to break out and perform sketches when needed.
