Ep. 126: Outlaws and Gunslingers: Cimarron, New Mexico

Summary: In the fifth installment of Outlaws and Gunslingers we take a look at the town of Cimarron, New Mexico. Settled by Lucien Maxwell within a 1.7 million acre land grant, this town was established just of the Cimarron cutoff of the Santa Fe trail. Soon the town sprang up and in came the outlaws. Notable outlaws Clay Allison and Davy Crockett (not that one) basically ran the town and the owners of the land grant get on the bad side of the townspeople. This town had it all.
