Summary: Singer-songwriter MARJON (Mary Jones) has an extraordinary way of capturing her listeners’ emotions and their hearts. With a passion for music and her great grandmother’s teachings of “loving others unconditionally” running through her veins from an early age, MARJON’s soothing melodies expose a truly sensitive artist whose airy and sweet vocals have the power to provoke a profound response. Raised in rural Newellton Louisiana, MARJON fostered an early love for music. MARJON learned to play the piano by ear at an early age under the tutelage of her great-grandmother. Her favorite story to share is a fond memory of her playing “twinkle twinkle little star” on the piano, using only one note, for her head start graduation. By learning to play by ear, MARJON became an invaluable member of her church choir and was also apart of The Newellton Community Youth Choir. It was in college at Louisiana State University that she progressed her love for music. One of her best friends, Chase Warner and her would take on small gigs and participated in many events around campus. Shortly after college, her and another best friend, G’Neque Decquir, bonded over songwriting and a few of their favorite artists by the name of Frank Ocean, and Kehlani, which eventually blossomed into her establishing a solo career. MARJON is a very kindhearted and peaceful soul and truly doesn’t mind starting a conversation. Releasing her first single in May 2020 was an incredibly nerve wrecking experience but in the midst has turned on the faucet for a wave of eclectic and soulful expressions to come.
