Mapping Residential Schools in Canada

The Agenda with Steve Paikin (Video) show

Summary: For more than a century and half, Canada's residential schools inflicted astonishing suffering on Indigenous children and families across the country. A new project offers a way to see some of how that unfolded across the country. Joining The Agenda to discuss the Residential Schools Land Memory Mapping Project are: Jackie Fletcher, residential school survivor and member of the Children of Shingwauk Alumni Association; Irene Barbeau, residential school survivor and council member for the Children of Shingwauk Alumni Association; and Stephanie Pyne, post-doctoral Research Fellow with the Residential Schools Land Memory Mapping Project at Carleton University.
