Summary: "The Crown" Our montage today presents some selections that were played for her coronation, June 2nd 1953. The works are from Handel, William Walton. Also, another Walton march, Crown Imperial, is part of the collection of works, as it was played for the coronation of Queenie's father, George VI. Mozart's coronation concerto wasn't commissioned for a coronation ceremony - rather, the nickname comes from from his playing the work at the time of the coronation of Leopold II as Holy Roman Emperor in October 1790.
