Summary: With a month and a half to go before the Easter break, which traditionally represents a peak in visitors and expenditure, there has so far been little change to tourist flows to the Canary Islands despite four confirmed cases of the coronavirus and a hotel in lockdown in Adeje, on Tenerife island. Police could ignore low-level crime and troops could be deployed on the streets as part of the government's dramatic 'battle plan' if coronavirus takes hold in the UK. Patients not suffering from the disease could also be sent home from hospital, and local authorities will be helped with the 'challenge' of dealing with increasing numbers of deaths among the elderly and vulnerable.
