Military housing companies say they are making progress on substandard homes, but lawmakers are hearing differently

Summary: The House Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee called five military housing corporations to the Hill last week to give updates on how they're improving service member homes. Reports of mold, mice, lead paint and other problems continue to pop up nationwide. It’s now been 10 months since the first reports and Congress is expecting some changes. The companies laid out their solutions, but lawmakers on the subcommittee said they are still hearing about persistent and worsening issues.
