Around the Buoy show

Summary:

Since Tabor Academy moved to the head of Sippican Harbor in Marion MA, the school has empowered students to develop their leadership skills onboard their sailing yacht Tabor Boy.

The current Tabor Boy, (TBIII) a 1914 North Sea Pilot Schooner, has been under the command of Capt. James Geil since 1987, and for the past three decades he has introduced the joys and responsibilities of being out at sea to countless students. From orientation cruises for incoming freshmen and racing in this year’s Marion-to-Bermuda Race, to a once-in-a-lifetime passage through the Panama Canal, Tabor Boy has proven that some of the most important lessons are taught outside of the classroom walls. Listen in!

This episode is sponsored by: Arey’s Pond Boatyard
