Talking Tastebuds with Aja Barber

All The Small Things show

Summary: Aja Barber is a writer, stylist and slow fashion advocate. Her voice is one of the most impactful in the sustainable space and I couldn’t be happier to have her on the show this week. We examine food as privilege and how colonisation affected and still impacts indigenous communities and Aja shares her advice on how she thinks we should be re-framing the conversation around veganism. We also discuss white privilege, sustainable fashion, her frustrations with influencers preaching ‘sustainability’ and taking money from fast fashion brands at the same time, inclusivity in fashion and cultural appropriation. Find Aja: https://www.instagram.com/ajabarber/ The Byson post Aja mentions: https://www.instagram.com/p/B3xCCL2A29p/?igshid=1achv7x6ahhzp Disclaimer: this episode is sponsored by Pukka Tea. https://www.instagram.com/pukkaherbs/ https://www.pukkaherbs.com/your-wellbeing/blog/2019/09/climate-emergency-declaration/

See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
