Summary: Patience at the National Institute of Standards and Technology is starting to wear thin. NIST has been waiting since January for the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Office of Management and Budget to finish its review of new and expanded privacy controls in special publication 800-53, Revision 5. The nine-month approval process is now having a downward impact on several other publications that NIST wants to release.
