Chairman Fred is obviously the son of Fred Hampton Sr., the black panther party for self-defense chairman who was assassinated (along with Mark Clark) by the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation and Chicago Police Dept in 1969. Among other topics discussed during the interview were the importance of using the proper terms in relation to police violence rather than the sanitized and blame shifting verbiage employed by the police and media, the concerted efforts of the government and police to keep oppressed people from self organizing to end that oppression, and the co-option of successes by grassroots organizations to allow governments to claim credit for them.
