Summary: Wildlife poaching is a serious threat, and one of the largest illegal industries in the world. Historic data on ranger patrolling and detecting illegal poaching incidents can be leveraged to train ML models. Bistra is working on these predictive ML models for poaching risk and explains in this episode how they have been shown to effective in Field studies in 3 different protected areas.
