Along the way we find out more about their life, career and the people and events that have shaped them into who they are today. Today my guest is Nine Network News presenter, journalist Jo Hall. Now if you're in Victoria, you may recognise her from the Nine Local News bulletins at 6pm each weeknight. And she's been a familiar fixture in Australia's living rooms at Nine for four decades this year, since starting as a cadet with the network in 1979. It's been - and continues to be - an incredible and enduring career, and Hall was actually also the first woman to win the prestigious Thorn Award, a national award for journalism in 1990 for her report on the siege at Hawthorn Kindergarten. I went into the Nine studios (which is exciting, even for a working journo!) to chat to Jo about her 40 years of journalism and how the attitude towards women on TV has changed, why her hairstyle is part of her contract, raising her four children as a single mum, and the surprising drugstore dupe she's found to replace her signature designer perfume after it was discontinued, plus so much more.
