Summary: Trust in the media has hit bottom, 60% of people surveyed believe that stories are paid for. In other words the facts aren't being checked. The survey, done in partnership with Reuters found that the media is last on a list of all of Washington’s institutions that the public has confidence in, even under Congress. The media has always shaped culture. Other things have shaped culture too, like the church. The church used to have a huge influence on culture but the media always has as well. My question is, has the media gone too far trying to shape politics, OR has politics gone too far trying to shape culture?
