Summary: EPISODE 47. Sabino sits down with long time friend, Rocco Rubino who played basketball overseas in Sicily. Rocco was a young star with a lot of potential, coming from Greenpoint, Brooklyn. They talk about what it was like playing basketball together growing up, and Rocco talks about his professional basketball career. (Instagram is @RoccoRubino) About Rocco Rubino's Career Italy : Averaged 12 points per game, 4 assists and 3 rebounds 2009 (College Career) : Started and played in all 27 games...led the team in eight different categories that included points (502), points per game (18.6), field goals made (144), three pointers made (50), free throws made (164), free throw percentage (84.5), assists (101), minutes played (997), and was second on the team in rebounds (130)...scored in the double digits in ever game except for one... was the game high scorer in 13 games and had a season high of 30 points against Vassar (12/9/09)...had game highs of eight assists against Baruch College (1/6/10) and four steals over Lehman (1/8/10)...led the conference in free throw percentage (.845), second in minutes played (997) and fifth in assists and points with 101 and 502 respectively...honored as a CUNYAC First-Team All-Star and also named to the NABC All-District team. High School : Played three years on the varsity for legendary coach Jack Curran…Was the sixth leading scorer in the CHSAA last season, averaging 15.0 points for Molloy…Netted a season-high of 31 points versus St. Francis (VA).
