Born in New York, Rusty Gilligan moved to California with a Broadway show named "A Family Affair" and stayed in Burbank. After years as a child actor, he moved into the field of comic books as a writer and artist, and even became a professional wrestler. He was the Heavyweight Wrestling Champion of the USWA and CWL in the late 1980s. Currently, working strong in the comic book field. Rusty has been a fixture in comics since 1978 with credits including Marvel, DC, Big Bang, Image, Heavy Metal and more. His film work includes the original “Heavy Metal”, “Spider-Man 2 & 3″, and more recently “Captain America”, the "Avengers", and “The Walking Dead”. He also created the first 'sketch cards' while working for Clubhouse Diamonds in 1993. Rusty has created great comic book characters such as Mac and Trouble, The Super, and Symbol.
