Summary: ‘Beale Street’ is about Tish and Fonny, a young, black couple living in 1970s Harlem. In the midst of experiencing all the things young love often entails, Fonny is wrongly accused of rape. While he’s locked away, 19-year-old Tish discovers she’s pregnant with his baby. From there, the movie mixes the emotions of Fonny and, especially, Tish’s family dealing with the upcoming baby and figuring out how to clear Fonny’s name.
