Reflecting on 'A Million Degrees' (Album Reaction - Emigrate)

The lyriclunatics's Podcast show

Summary: *Warning: Bad Monty Python reference ahead* This week, naughty Zoot needs a spanking, and so do Ginger and Angel because they've done a bad...bad thing. There are a million reasons for them breaking their promise not to drift back to looking at work from Emigrate -- but the new album dropped and at that point, they were doomed to end up in the naughty corner again (they should just set up a permanent 'club house' in the naughty corner, with as often as they end up there)/ In this episode, Ginger and Angel get reflective about 'A Million Degrees', the new album from Emigrate. But since they have way too many feelings and thoughts about each song on the album, they are switching things up and offering a micro-analysis of each song -- which (as usual) does not go as planned. So come along as they give in to temptation and are dragged down into their favourite abyss, with 'A Million Degrees'. * Check out Emigrate in the following places* YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDB4RoqHlMLyJh8eRA6d4AA Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/emigrateofficial Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Emigrate   Who are the Lyric Lunatics? GingerSnaps is a recovering academic with a Ph.D. in the psycholinguistics of fandoms, and too many opinions for her redhead to hold without spillage. She has an arguably unhealthy (?) obsession with foreign men in long coats, especially those who wield ropes and implements that go “thud.” Novelist, poet, painter...if it’s creative, she’s probably tried it at some point. Her creative 'to-do' list just keeps growing, thanks to the fact that her time is split between a Hellish commute, a full-time gig in a (ridiculously) conservative workplace, and trying to keep the 7-year-old girl-spawn and whippet puppy out of trouble (most days the whippet is better behaved than the child!).  (Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/this_ginger_snaps_back ) AtomicAngel is a 20-something mad scientist, hailing from the Midwest where the seasons are made up and the traffic laws don’t matter. She holds a Master’s degree (seriously, it’s hard to pry the diploma out of her hands), and when she isn’t trying not to unleash a zombie plague or putting more thought into songs than the actual writers did, she can usually be found playing video games, writing novels and poems of her own, or crying because she saw a cute dog.
